Update - changing direction (again) - not entirely CW-related

As any viewer can see, I've still been very inconsistent with this journal. At this point, all I can say is that I'm going to try, but I understand that my final grade for this course may reflect the minimal effort I've put into keeping this journal. I don't expect that I will completely catch up, but the least I can do is try to keep up this month.

I actually see some good in the motivational issues I've had this semester. I've always felt okay about my writing skills, recently mostly reinforced through essays for various classes, but I realized through this semester that I would completely be forcing myself to follow through with this Writing major. It seems like a very good program with great faculty, but I decided that I would rather study something that excites me rather than forcing myself to pursue one of my skills. Having decided that, I've changed my major to Music Industry - a similar major to mine at Drexel two years ago.

Drexel may not have worked out for me, and for a while I related that to the major I was in. However, through many things in my life being a lot better here at Ramapo, I can see that there were a lot of other factors bringing me down at Drexel, mainly related to social life, support, and organization. These days, all of those areas are looking a lot better, so I'm actually very hopeful that studying Music will be good for me this time around.

Obviously, it's my responsibility to finish the courses I'm currently in. I'm definitely going to try to keep up with this month's journals, fill my Literature and Film journal by the end, and continue to work for my Speech class. I don't think it will be too hard as long as I just get myself to the tasks and remember that none of it is remotely painful.

I actually feel very good about this change. This might not be entirely fitting for a Creative Writing journal, but it's definitely related to school. I am considering minoring in Creative Writing, as I still enjoy writing fantasy and about music, and the courses I've taken might as well count for something.
