Warcraft fan-fiction character profile: Aesiri, draft 1 (INCOMPLETE)

I have yet to think more about the missing details of the Warcraft fan-fiction I'd like to write, but I have put some thought into two of my characters: Aesiri, a "blood elf" mage (basically a wizard), and Dairen, a blood elf paladin (basically a holy knight). Much of my characters' back-stories are tied in with the actual main story of the Warcraft universe, but I hope that I can make them somewhat distinctive, if only through interactions with each other.

I wasn't too sure about how to format something like a character profile, so for now I'm going to model it after character profiles on WoWPedia, a Warcraft wiki. The following screen shot is how Aesiri actually appears in World of Warcraft.

Aesiri Dawnseeker
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 28 (Blood elves grow up at the same rate as humans, but then age over hundreds of years - Aesiri is quite young but still an adult)
  • Race: Blood elf; formerly high elf (Most of the high elves of Quel'Thalas renamed themselves the "blood elves" after much of their population was wiped out by the undead Scourge in an attack on the high elf capital of Silvermoon)
  • Occupation: Apprentice Sunreaver mage (The Sunreavers are a faction of blood elf mages that are trying to retain their place in the Kirin Tor, the original council of magic)
  • Affiliations: Quel'Thalas (the high/blood elf homeland); Horde (a major faction in the world of Azeroth led by orcs, consisting also of minotaur-like tauren, Darkspear trolls, goblins, free-willed "Forsaken" undead, and Quel'Thalas blood elves); Sunreavers; Argent Crusade (a faction of various races united against the undead Scourge)
  • Former affiliations: Alliance (the other major faction on Azeroth, led by humans and consisting also of dwarfs, gnomes, night elves, draenei, werewolf-like worgen, and surviving high elves; blood elves were formerly in the Alliance, but split after Azeroth's third great war); Kirin Tor
  • Home: Silvermoon City
  • Relationships: Keilu (younger sister); Dairen (fiancee); as-of-yet-unnamed mother; also-currently-unnamed father was a knight killed in the Scourge attack on Silvermoon
Biography: Aesiri was born in Silvermoon during the first war between the orcish Horde and the human-led Alliance. While the Alliance lost the war and their kingdom of Stormwind was mostly destroyed, the high elves were safe in Quel'Thalas, which was far north of Stormwind, past the continent of Lordaeron. Therefore, Aesiri knew only peace for most of her childhood and adolescence, during which she studied arcane magic in Silvermoon and quickly grew quite masterful over frost magic. Meanwhile, Aesiri's younger (by three years) sister Keilu studied as a priestess; in studying the holy during early adolescence, Keilu would meet the paladin Dairen and introduce him to Aesiri, leading to lasting friendships.

By the time Aesiri was 18, she had earned an apprenticeship in the Kirin Tor, Azeroth's council of mages. In her time with the Kirin Tor, Aesiri befriended Anneke, a human mage whose mastery over fire magic rivaled Aesiri's over frost. However, the period of peace in Aesiri's life would soon end as the undead Scourge began to spread throughout the continent of Lordaeron, wiping out much of the human population and then raising them as undead. Before long, the Scourge - led by the fallen prince of Lordaeron, Arthas Menethil - made their way to the high elven land of Quel'Thalas to extend their domain as well as to corrupt the Sunwell - the source of high elven immortality and magic - in order to resurrect the evil necromancer Kel'Thuzad as a powerful undead lich. In the chaos of the scourge assault, Aesiri's father was called to defend the city, while Aesiri, the rest of her family, and a handful of other high elves (including Dairen, his brother Heian, and their family) fled Silvermoon, led by the prince Kael'Thas Sunstrider.

Silvermoon was basically destroyed, and Aesiri's father was killed along with many other high elves. With no home to return to, the remaining high elves split between hiding and joining the remaining Alliance forces in their travel to the continent of Kalimdor to fight against the returning demonic Burning Legion; Aesiri and her family stayed in hiding until the Legion was defeated in Kalimdor, and Quel'Thalas was free to begin the long process of rebuilding. At this point, Aesiri and her family went back to Quel'Thalas.

Following the war against the Legion (known as the Third War), the high elves who had fought with the Alliance were becoming unhappy with their treatment by the other races of the Alliance, to a point when prince Kael'thas Sunstrider renamed the surviving high elves of Quel'Thalas the "blood elves" and split from the Alliance. Kael'thas (or Kael) led many of these blood elves to Outland, the ruins of the orc home world of Draenor, but a good number of blood elves remained in Quel'Thalas, including Aesiri and her family.

The blood elves remaining in Quel'Thalas stayed secluded from the rest of Azeroth until Silvermoon had been partially rebuilt and the surrounding Eversong Woods had been mostly restored. At this point, these Quel'Thalas blood elves joined the orc-led Horde, since they had already split from the Alliance and needed allies.

*UPDATE: Going to finish this and other character profiles after I learn more about making character profiles from Professor Clark*
